Photon 500 is an optical compressor inspired by classic compression technology from the 1960s, famously used in early LA-2A and LA-4 designs. Housed in a compact 500-series format, it delivers smooth, musical gain reduction through an opto-coupler that introduces natural negative feedback into the signal path. With an electronically balanced input driven by a 2520-compatible op-amp and a transformer-balanced output using an IGS Custom transformer, Photon 500 combines vintage compression behavior with modern reliability.
